I found the following has had great results over a week or so:
you will need,
one herbal cleanser
one lavendar/lemongrass/sage water
three cloths, one soaked in hot water, one in cold and one dry.
a bowl and towel for steaming the face.
recipes for each of the above are given throughout schedule.
First Cleanse: It is important not to scrub skin, only to very gently clean the area.
where this schedule says cleanse the recommended cleanser is either of the following:
Fennel Face Cleanser
Fennel seed, Buttermilk and Honey.
Crush/roughly chop 1 Tblesp fennel seed, pour one cup boiling water over it and stand ½ hour. Strain
Add 2 Tblesp. Buttermilk and 1 teaspoon honey to fennelseed water (above) and mix well.
Pour into clean container and refrigerate until cool
Take from fridge and use as needed
or
Chamomile cleansing milk
150 ml/5 fl oz buttermilk
1 tablesp. Each dried elder flowers and dried chamomile
1 tablesp honey
buttermilk and dried vinegar in pan and leave to simmer on low heat for 30 mins. Remove stir in honey and cool, strin through a fine sieve and keep in cool dark place, in jar: make fresh every week and shake before use.
Then Steam....sit over hot bowl of water which has been infused with any /any blend of the following...
sage, clove, camphor, (6 drops ess oil)
and two drops lemongrass essential oil.
steam for 5 minutes.
then cleanse again.
take a hot damp towel, as hot as you can manage and press over area you are treating, holding against skin for one-two minutes.
now apply the lavendar/lemongrass/sage water.
dried or fresh herb infused into water. Take 15g in total dried or 30g fresh of the above three herbs ( you can replace any of the herbs with one that has similar effect if more convenient) and put in bowl, pour hot water over them and leave to infuse for 20 minutes, then strain very very well, bottling the water in a tight-lidded jar, prefereably a dark color jar, add one half capsule vitamin E if liked.
soak a small are of a clean cloth in the water and apply to the treated area hold for a few minutes then move on with a clean piece of cloth to the next area. Rinse face thoroughly, and soaking a cloth in cold water press against treatment area, holding for one minute. this will cool face, "close" pores and help prevent reinfection.
