keep and long carboard inner rolls (from tinfoil, wrapping paper etc)
great from keeping leeks and other long vegis in place in the garden, and they rot away after time as well.
egg boxes are great for seedings.
large bottles make great mouse traps, above all else these work the best, im talking large bottles like demijohns (if i spelt that right) put it at an angle with a brick underneath, so it leans, put a few scraps on the rim of the bottle mouth and a few inside, once the mice fall in they cant get out. then you can depose of them in whatever way you feel best. very handy in green houses. or anywhere you dont want traps or poisen.
put plastic drinks bottle upide down in hanging tubs and baskets. cut them in half and put the top of the bottle into the dirt. then you can water your hanging plants, without ever getting wet again. also the plant takes what it needs, when it wants it, instead of you drowning the plant and loosing most of the water over the sides.
i will add more when i remember ;D

Use plastic milk bottles with the bottom cut off and a small hole in the cap to get the water to plant roots.
