needs a good clean and spray up, suzuki engine. We also have a petrol mower, a hybrid of a Suffolk Punch (1950's) engine and an Atco body (late 50's/early 60's). Ironic really as they are now both part of Qualcast/Bosch.

Wow! That should clean up nicely! Would really love something like that, all we have at the moment is a couple of very old mattocks, a fork, spade, trowel, couple of hoes and a rake! Not to mention two very sore backs! Long gone are the days of a 4 wheeled machine with some nice kit on the back! Still, it's the satisfaction one gets so I keep being told We do have a chain harrow, and a couple of rolls, not sure they'd do our little white van any good if I stuck 'em on the back though :-) Has anyone tried or seen these little electric ones? They seem to be reasonable in price, but can't see them being any good!

I wouldn't go for an electric rotavator personally, they won't do heavy soil. saying that a mantis is near £300 and a decent earthquake badger is near £400 with a Briggs and Stratton 6hp petrol engine. www.mowers-online.co.uk/itmidx33.htm

Still, it's the satisfaction one gets so I keep being told Isn't there anyone on island who could either come down and do over your ground, or loan you a massey 35 for a day or two? Or a John Deer? etc. What's this? You've got a new van? I heard rumours that you had. ;D ;D ;D Mick.

There is, but for someone to spend 20mins hooking up and getting here for what would take about 5 mins with a nice power harrow on the back, don't think we'd get too many offers! We're a third done, won't take much more to finish off - he says! Still not sure on how to manage the 4+acres of pasture yet! LOL Need a good Shire! That's a proper piece of kit :-) By the way Stormy, what cost £12? I can't see anyone mentioning £12?

I've got a big yellow one. It's 20" wide with a 6hp B&S on top and has a reverse gear for when it's buried up to the handles. Cuts through almost any ground but takes about two days afterwards for me to stop shakingggggggggg...

Well we used it yesterday and it took 10 mins to dig an area that would have taken me 3 days to dig with a spade and fork and 3 months to recover from!
