This originated as sausage plait, but my pastry plaiting is crap so it is sausage pie. (or a huge sausage roll take yer pick)
(with veggies and spud this feeds 6)
1lb sausagemeat 12oz pastry diced onion 1 crushed garlic clove chopped mushroom (opt) 1 egg 1 oz flour herbs and seasoning to taste
mix the sausagemeat with half the beaten egg, garlic, onion, herbs, mushroom and flour. roll out pastry, put sausage mix into pastry either to make large sausage roll or to make a sausage parcel. cover sausagemeat with the pastry. with a knife make a few slits on top, glaze with remaining egg.
bake on a baking tray in medium oven until golden brown. serve with spud, veggies or chips and beans
