I have last years veg bed covered in weeds. Drastic measures are called for as the digging I can't do at the moment, the travelling and stuff over the weekend put paid to that! So I've gone and got me some round up. Now the apparent bonus of round up is that the stuff is systemic and is neutralised once it hits soil.
We shall see. I should be able to plant thre in about a weeks time.
I know it's not totally environmentally friendly but it is less harmful than other stuff (unless you happen to be a North Amercan Bull Frog that happens to be migrating)and we are not near to natural water course to panic about it getting to the river.

starchild me mate, if you know anyone with gee gees, ask them nicely to bottle horses piddle, it gets rid of everything.
the other thing i do to keep weeds down expessilaly on large vegi patches, are grass cutting from the mower. but not the very first mow.
the other thing is to put down bark.
of course you can also get yourself a slave to do the weeding for you, im sure you could think of at least one hunky man
yes thats right? i meant mickster, though dazza dont look bad with his top off either ( i have a very good imagination)

Grass cuttings from the mower are no good at our place, too much moss and dandelion. I shall see how th round up pans out. ifall else fails I'll get some off Mikes boss agricultural strength from the farm.
