for years my family have kept a journal about their self sufficancy.
it has everything from the life of the animals to the price of the food and its quite interesting to read.
as i go through it i wil add here.
heres a few bits.
kept pigs 1980-1983 2 boars, 2 sows. all eaten lol
kept rabits 1979-1982 rex and rita as pets
kept quails 1979-1991 (and in brackets there is a large ?, maybe as to say why did we do it)
kept ferrets 1980 fred and freda ( i remember them breeding worse than the rabbits)
bought 20 koi carp 1992.

kept partridges in the woods
worm charming prices...........ok dad used to have a worm charming compitition every year, you all had a plot of land and you had to charm the worms in anyway you wanted, apart from digging them up, the money raised went to a charity, everyone used to come, usually about 18 teams of 4 or 5 people, i remember there was a lot of cheating. and a LOT of sillyness.
