how does one remove a stubborn root without having to use dynomite to blow the thing out of the ground.
i mean is there anything i can use to kill the thing.

hang on, try a spoon of jeyes fluid, that should shrivel it.

spoon! need a bloody bif spoon then lol, its a tree root me dear, sorry i should have said, but then if i did say, then i wouldnt be laughing now. its a very very old minutre shrub (which actually did what it said on the label) its really old about 80 years old. and the stump/root is really really big, and all over the place, under the path and house lol, in fact its probally the only thing keeping the house upright. so if when you come down you see only rubble you will know why.

apply weedkillers such as ammonium sulphamate (Root Out, Deep Root or Amcide), glyphosate (such as Roundup) or 2,4-D/mecoprop-P/dicamba (SBK Brushwood Killer), as directed by the manufacturer's instructions on the label. Ideally, apply immediately after felling. Expect roots to be killed within six weeks, although a stump may take several years to completely rot away.
