You're lucky Starchild. No point in sowing owt up here until April We've plenty of snowdrops out and the bluebells are up and the daffs are blooming, but its still a bit too early to be sowing seeds even in the greenhouse. Apart from tomatoes, I'm going to do the usual and nick some sunflower seeds from the wild bird food and sow them. Last year I planted thirteen of them and the rabbits ate them all. The little buggers are out and bout now. Tiny little baby ones hopping about with virtually no fear. I'll give em a few weeks before taking out the air rifle. ;D ;D Mick.

Last year I pegged out the runners from the old strawberries and they were naff This time, I bought one of those terracotta strawberry/herb pots from 'Focus' for a tenner and then got a pack of six strawberry plants from Lidl for £2.99. I'm going to keep it in the greenhouse and see how it goes. Mick. PS: Lidl will be flogging some gardening stuff from the 19th April. They are selling a 360ltr compost bin for £16.00!!

my mammy and sister are growing strawberries this year! it's in compensation for the tomato plants they won't have (Cos we are moving in august I didn't plant them) I can see myself askig for help in here over and over, as they panic Mam is very green fingered but the other one - if she doesn;t murder the whole bed of them I'll be delighted!
