It's just arrived...£84.50 for the quarter, not bad considering there are 6 of us in a 4 bed house. AND I have been using an F rated tumble dryer. Mind you we don't use the storage heaters or the immersion heater neither do we have an elctric cooker, we stick to the solid fuel rayburn. ;D

Not bad at all. I haven't got mine yet, but I don't think it will be as low as that and there are just the two of us old uns here. Mick.

We use an average of 80 pence per day including the 15pence daily charge. Top up cards are £5/each, and even though Scottish Hydro have said they are reducing their price, no one has changed our meter! £292/year isn't that bad, but isn't good enough.
All being well once I've modded a few mains inverters and sorted out some sort of wind pick up device, we should save a few pennies! If we had £495 we could have a turbine, and 4 batteries and 8 mains inverters that would mean we would only use mains supply if we had no wind up here and lost charge! No wind up here on sunny Sanday!??!?! LOL yeah like that is ever going to happen!
What I don't understand is why on earth we can't get a grant for £500 each, equip with a nice little wind turbine and save what at least 90% on electric, but companies would lose too much money therefore they won't do it! It's only if you go for a 5Kw turbine that you have to by law feed back into the grid that you get your grants!
Still, it's so easy to do - with a few little pennies!
