Why won't the council let me keep chickens? I mean, you can keep pigeons and run the risk of psitticosis and pigeon shit everywhere, but I am not allowed to keep chickens in a coop! There is more risk of avian flu with pigeons than chickens! Noise? Well the neighbours who own their homes have bloody got them (including a cockerel) and no bugger complains. Space? Plenty of room for a 3 chicken coup in our garden! Smell? No worse than the Dairy farm less than 50 yrds away. So what IS their excuse? Or do I have to wait 4 yrs and get meself into hock with a mortgage just to keep 3 chickens?

Well I e-mailed my housing officer and I will wait a reply, but I won't hold me breath, I might turn blue!
