Hi everyone My name is James and I'm a researcher in the Sociology Department at Lancaster University. Right now I'm about half way through a PhD project which looks at how people conceive of, and use, commodities that are labelled 'traditional'. As you can probably deduce from the subject heading, I'm interested in Aga cookers (as well as reclaimed timber floorboards) and, in particular, how people use them to facilitate certain kinds of practice such socialising, performing certain kinds of cooking, drying laundry, and anything else. I realise this isn't a specialist Aga message boards but, since I’m having trouble finding the right people to talk to, I thought I'd join and see what happens. Ideally, I’d like to talk to anyone who owns a cooker and find out what their experiences have been with them. Even if you don’t own an Aga maybe you know someone who does. For those of you that might be dubious about studying Agas, I can assure you this is legitimate and, if you click on the link below, you'll learn some more about my study: www.lancs.ac.uk/fss/sociology/prospective/phd/students/tomasson.htmThanks very much! Kind regards James

Not an Aga but I use a solid fuel rayburn. (same concept, different fuel) I do not have an electric or gas cooker. I only use the rayburn.
